BIOGRAPHY

Meet Caroline Kearney in three words: Singing, Laughing, Talking.  For most of her life Caroline has loved doing all three-- preferably at once.  So when Caroline Kearney met the confessional style of Cabaret, it was love at first sight or listen.  She'd always liked coffeehouses, musical theater and Jazz jams, but once she saw a cabaret, she knew everyone was right: when you know you know.

Caroline was born and raised just outside of Philadelphia by John E Kearney, a Catholic School Educator, and Carol Taylor-Kearney, an artist.  The middle of three strong, passionate and funny daughters, Caroline was quick with a joke but slow with the running, so throughout school she was happily active in her school's music scene and a myriad of regional choirs.

After graduating high school she majored in Voice at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ.  There she performed with many world class orchestras (the New York Philharmonic, the Royal Concergebouw, and the Philadelphia Orchestra) at renowned musical venues (the Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, the Kimmel Center and Avery Fisher Hall). During her senior year, Caroline developed a crush on touring when she hit the road for the Royal Christmas Tour with Julie Andrews, Christopher Plummer, Charlotte Church and the Royal Philharmonic.

Since completing her degree Caroline has performed at events and art openings in Philadelphia, New York and Washington, DC.  She's performed as an anthemist for the Philadelphia Wings, in the Philadelphia Fringe Festival and as a "Red Hot Mama" in an authentic Vaudeville Show.

In the fall of 2011, she and her family began a production company, Little Bird Music, and produced her first full scale solo concert, Love Songs, Ditties and Dreams.  In 2013, Caroline and Little Bird Music produced their next show, a Cabaret called Every Song I Sing is My Favorite.

In the fall of 2014, Caroline moved to New York City, and made her New York City debut in December 2014 in “Bernie’s Sing Your Heart Out Showcase” at the Metropolitan Room.  In early January 2015 she also participated in Metropolitan Room’s Longest Running Variety Show.  Since then she has returned to the Metropolitan Room on several occasions as a featured performer, and can be seen at various venues including Room 53.

Starting in late-2014, Caroline began The Song of the Month project, through which she challenged herself to record and release a new song every month.  Beginning with her first original song, "I'm So Pretty" and continuing to eventually include 17 more cover singles, this project culminated in the release of her first full-length album, Run Away With Me, in late 2015.  It is currently available on iTunes, CDBaby, Napster, Google Music and Amazon.

Inspired by the works of Carly Simon, Carole King, Leslie Gore, Bonnie Raitt and others whose work is featured on Run Away With Me, Caroline is now working on material for her first full-length album of original songs.

Caroline is constantly looking to improve this art she loves, and has studied with Charles Walker, Sharon Sweet and Natalie Douglas.  She can often be found at Jim Caruso's Cast Party at Birdland and The Salon at etcetera etcetera.  In her spare time, she enjoys sharing some of her originals and some of her old favorites with Senior Citizens and anyone with a love of a good tune. She's also been known to drink a bit of joe and round the bases during a kickball game.  Like Cabaret and the Songwriters she admires, she likes to keep life interesting.
